The clamp is for securing a rope, particularly on a sailing boat, and has two clamp jaws (3) at least one of which is pivotable on a base (2), each jaw having a vertical clamp face (6) with grooves (9) on an upwardly inclined wedge face (7) extending from the clamp face. Each wedge face has parallel grooves (10) whose sides form surfaces on which the rope can slide with little resistance. The grooves (10) of the two jaws diverge such that, when the rope is pressed-in in vertical direction, the jaws tend to open without the rope being moved in axial direction.
|
