1478078 Dough mixing apparatus A STEPHAN U SOHNE GmbH & CO 7 July 1975 [17 July 1974] 28487/75 Heading B1C A dough mixing and kneading machine comprises a horizontally disposed cylindrical mixing drum adapted to be closed in an airtight manner, at least one upper feed aperture, an outlet 3 in the lower part of the peripheral wall of the drum and mixing and kneading implements 12 distributed along and around a shaft 11 which projects into the drum from one end wall, a drive motor 10 for said shaft disposed outside the drum, the drum also having an end cover 5 centrally of which there is mounted an independently driven angled conveyor blade 7, a free arm portion of this blade having a scraper edge 9 which abuts against the inner peripheral wall of the drum. The peripheral wall of the drum may be jacketed for heating and cooling purposes. Non return valves may be provided for the injection of gases and/or liquids and a vacuum system for evacuation of the drum. Control means may be provided for regulating the kneading operation in dependance upon the temperature in the drum or on the energy consumed.
