A device for platting yarns to produce a tubular fabric comprises pref. upper and lower rotating platforms, between which are located interengaging gear wheels. Yarn is fed from yarn supply packages between the gear whells so that as the platforms rotate the yarns are platted together. Some of the yarn supply packages are arranged in an upper pref. horizontal plane whilst the other supply packages are arranged in a lower plane parallel with the upper plane. Replacement of empty yarn packages by full yarn packages is speeded up, thereby increasing the throughput of the machine.
