Table with top adjustable for height - has threaded rods in nuts forming articulations for legs and driven by central geared motor unit

The table has a top (2) which is adjustable for height. Three or four support legs (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) may be used, each of these being in two halves and articulated to a common central threaded block (7a, 7b, 7c, 7d) forming a nut. The upper half (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) is articulated under the table top and the lower (6a, 6b, 6c, 6d) to a rigid base (4) on castors. Threaded rods (8, 10, 11) pass through the nuts and all meet in a central geared unit (9) under the table. In this unit the rods are interconnected by means of cone gears, these being operated by an electric motor to move the nuts in or out along the rods.
