The prefabricated staircase is formed in two separate parts. It comprises an upper and lower section which are assembled either in place in the building or before leaving the factory by bolting together two adjacent ramps. Each section contains its own vertical and horizontal step components and banister. They are slotted into position and screwed together by extended bolts located between two parallel lugs which fit into recesses formed in the adjacent section. The staircase assembly is constructed so that the top step or the lower section slots into a locating groove formed at the base of the upper section.
