1321918 Feeding strip HAMAC-HANSELLA GmbH 19 Aug 1971 [22 Aug 1970] 39038/71 Heading B8R Rollers 1, 2 for the step-by-step feeding of strip material 3 are intermittently driven from a shaft 16 which is connected, through a unidirectional freewheel device which includes a sleeve 14 associated with locking rollers 18, to an oscillatory connecting rod 12 driven by a crank-shaft 11 on a continuously rotating shaft 10. In order to prevent over-running of the freewheel mechanism during the second portion of the intermittent feeding movement, due to the inertia of the feed rollers 1, 2 and their associated gearing 19-24, a clutch is provided to positively connect the shaft 16 to the sleeve 14 during the period of feed movement of the strip material, engagement of the clutch being controlled by a cam drive 40-44 connected to the shaft 10. A suitable clutch arrangement including friction rings (33, 34) a thrust plate (38) and pressure springs (48) is described with reference to Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown). |
