摘要 <p>Process for mfg. cationically modified silica sols, which are stable in electrolytes, uses aluminium salts. The novely is the mixing, at 0-50 degrees C of (a) an anionic silica sol. contg. by wt. 5-50% SiO2, particle size 5-120 nm, and pH 4.5-7.5 with (b) a 5-50% aq. Al salt soln. with pH 3-5.5, added until a mole ratio Al:SiO2 of 0.4-3:10 is obtd; and the pH is adjusted to 4.8-6 by adding (c) 20-100% (of the wt. of SiO) of sodium-, potassium-, or ammonium-acetate. Pref. an Al salt of an organic acid is used, esp. a neutral or basic formate or acetate, e.g. the triformate or triacetate. Method is esp. for the slip-proof- or matt-finishing of textiles.</p>
