Film forming materials used in examples are phenolic, acrylic and polyurethane resins and also mixtures of phenolic resins with polymerized tung oil alone or with an epoxy resin. Others are normal including cellulosic materials. Suitable waxy materials include paraffin, animal and vegetable waxes, higher fatty acids and soaps thereof, and hydrogenated fatty oils; carnauba and candelilla waxes are preferred. Named solvents include hydrocarbons, alcohols, esters, ethers, ketones and nitro-benzene. There may also be present a small portion, preferably up to 10%, of supplemental ingredients examples being given of pigments, fillers, plasticizers, drying oil, acids and esters thereof, drying accelerators and oxidation retardants. The composition may be used in pencil or stick form in repair of metal, glass, ceramic, wood, plastic and like surfaces.</p> |
