1471675 Ball and socket joints ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 11 July 1974 [12 July 1973] 30732/74 Heading E2F In a ball joint assembly for a drive linkage of a motor vehicle windscreen wiper system a socket joint 13 made of plastics material is fitted in a bore 11 of a linkage part 10 of the system, the socket joint 13 being locked in place by a locking ring 14. Tapered retaining lugs 20 engage in corresponding recesses 21 in the linkage part 10 to facilitate the assembly of the socket joint. The locking member may be in the form of a protective cap which embraces the socket joint (Fig. 2, not shown). |
