<p>1474206 Dispensing beverages CORNELIUS CO 6 Aug 1974 [20 Aug 1973] 34690/74 Heading A4T [Also in Divisions B1 and F4] In a method of and apparatus for mixing and dispensing a beverage, water from a main supply valve 15 is fed at a controlled flow-rate through a line 19 to a mixing spout 23, beverage concentrate is fed from a tank 31 through a line 87 to the mixing spout and a controlled, by throttle valve 29, proportion of water is fed by a by-pass line 25 into the beverage concentrate line 87 to partially dilute the beverage concentrate before reaching the mixing spout, the flow-rate of the partially diluted beverage liquid being controlled e.g. by a metering pump 40. The mixing spout, as shown, Fig. 6 includes an air inlet passage 46 whereby air is drawn into the spout to mix with the beverage and diluting water. A flushing valve 17 is included in the apparatus for flushing out the beverage concentrate feed line. As shown the entire system is duplicated and thus includes two beverage tanks 31, 32, two mixing spouts 23, 24 etc. A refrigeration system, see Division F4, is incorporated in the apparatus to cool the beverage concentrate tanks and inflowing water in the coil 14. The metering pumps 40, 41 may be of the peristaltic type and operation thereof electrically linked with operation of the respective main water valves 15, 16.</p> |
