<p>The procedure ensures a safe interval between vehicles in an electrically controlled railway system. This involves computing the number of clear track sections, from the front of one vehicle to the rear of the preceding train, using an obstacle counter controlled by an interval counter and wagon counter. The obstacle counter is blocked by the wagon counter, and released within limits in the event of a wagon count corresponding to the end of the safety braking curve. The obstacle counter counts up to the obstacle interval allotted to a selectable and permissible train speed, and its limitation is removed when there is a zero wagon count setting. More efficient sector utilisation is achieved, without loss of safety.</p> |
