1448709 Temperature sensors W C HERAEUSGmbH 14 Nov 1973 [15 Nov 1972] 52847/73 Heading H1K A temperature sensor comprises a temperature dependent resistor 1, connected to the leads 7, 8 of a mineral-insulated cable, the sheath 3 of which is of metal braiding or flexible metal tubing and extends over the resistor and is sealed by a plug 2. The resistor 1 may be of resistance wire or semi-conductor material and may be embedded in a powdered ceramic material 4, as shown, or alternatively in a plastics material or glazing. The joints 10 between the resistor leads 5, 6 and cable leads 7, 8 may be soldered and held by an insulating disc 9. The sensor may be manufactured by stripping the sheath from the end of the cable, soldering the resistor in place, and pushing the sheath up the cable until it covers the resistor. |
