Unit for use in a fractionating appts. comprises: a liquid-tight sheet rooled into a spiral and a hollow tube with at least one perforation placed at the centre of the spiral and parallel to its axis. Several hollow fibres are arranged inside the spiral and between the windings. End walls are attached at right angles to the axis of the device and fixed to the spiral, the tube and the fibres. The fibres across at least one of the walls and are open to the outside. The improvement is that the tube need only be fixed to one of the end walls and may be reduced to a tube crossing one of the walls as its centre.
