<p>A device for connecting submerged conduits comprises a housing formed by >=2 semi-spherical components which can be assembled with a tight joint. Each component has an opening accommodating a conduit and each can be aligned relatively to the other by turning so that the conduits to be connected are presented radially. Between the semi-spherical ends of the housing, spacer rings may be fitted, in each of which there is at least one opening for a conduit. One of the semi-spherical details rests on the ground on feet, whilst the other has a manhole giving access to the interior and alos permitting the temporary arrangement of a submarine motorised servicing unit. Enables submerged conduits to be joined to joined as easily at the start as at the finish of laying, without necessarily using divers, and allowing tolerances for inaccurate measurement of submarine angles and distances. Ine or more conduits of small section can be attached to a large size conduit or to a network. The device forms a manifold in which valves can be installed for sectionalising a unit for the carrying out of trials, and the remote control arrangements for them.</p> |
