Monomeric reaction prod. of an equiv. (A) of an isocyanate-contg. inter. prod (being the reaction prod. of 1 equiv. of an org. monomeric cpd. contg. active H atoms with 2 equivs. of an org. polyisocyanate) and (B) a monomeric, active H-contg. cpd. is used inthe prodn. of printing inks for paper or textiles. These cpds. can be rendered photosensitive by adding a photoinitiator (pref. acyloin ether or a Michler's ketone) and other adjuvants; such compsns. are used in the prodn. of lithographic plates, printed circuits etc. They also can be used in the prodn. of glass. Prods. obtd. are nonvolatile and nontoxic. When used as a vehicle for paints, they exhibit good water- oil- and soil-repelling props. Photosensitive compsns. comprising these prods. have high sensitivity; they form durable wear resistant coatings, which are not attacked by solvents. Sharp and clean images are obtd; they are developed by means of aq. developers.
