Arranged in sandwich configuration in the upper part of a device housing (1) is a support layer (4) of a good heat-radiating material. Situated on the inner side of the support layer is an electrically conducting heating film with pad electrodes (9), to which an electricity lead (10) is connected. The heating film is formed by applying a plastic dispersion with added carbon black onto the support layer. The space between the heating film and the closed upper part of the device housing is filled with an electrically insulating and heat-insulating layer (6) of rigid polyurethane foam. The lower part (1b) of the device housing projects beyond the support layer, so that there is a safety distance between the area to be treated and the support plate radiating the heat. The edge of the lower part of the device housing is provided with a padding (2). This radiation device permits a uniform surface radiation of the areas to be treated.
