The automatic coin operated machine includes a timing circuit (100) and a counter unit (110). The timer incorporates a pair of changeover contacts (101) in circuit with RC members (102, 103) diodes (104) and a Schmitt-Trigger (106). The latter has parallel-connected capacitors (105). The trigger circuit is electrically connected with a pair of electro-magnetic coils (9, 10) which operate pawl-type levers for step-wise moving ratchet wheels (8, 11) by means of the restraint offered by the tips of the levers (12) in the depression in the wheels. The toothed wheels are driven by a motorised device.
