The invalid chair comprises a seat member (1) and a back member (2) pivoting about an axle (3) near the centre of the seat portion. The front edge of the seat portion may be raised from the ground (7) for movement or raised above it (8) for a fixed position. About the axle is fitted large wheels (4) on a ball bearing. Behind the seat portion is mounted fixture bracket (5) for a small wheel (6) in a hinged bracket. The load bearing wheels are held together by a beam beneath the seat which is a few centimetres greater than the width of the seat in the region of the wheels.
