The holder is cast from aluminium alloy treated against corrosion. It comprises a flat plate (3) for fixing (1,2,5) to a suitable surface, horizontally or vertically, and carrying a bracket (4) for locating a rod (7). The rod passes through the centre of the salt lick block and is retained by a nut and a washer (8,9), these permitting the block to rotate loosely or be clamped tight. For vertical installation, the rod is mounted on a centre bracket, its lower end (6) fixed. For horizontal installation, the rod is mounted between two side plates, a nut and washer being used at each end.
