The low power heating system consists of a wind-driven generator. It is connected to an electric heating element that heats circulating water or air. The air blades of the generator have a variable pitch and are designed with the AC generator for wind speeds less than 25 km/h. At the design wind speeds, the generator produces C.1 kilowatt. The system is used for 'topping up' existing heating systems (e.g. oil), and it offsets increased cooling losses caused by high winds. |
