The application is typically to motor vehicle three-phase generators. The output leads (f1, f2, f3) of the generator (G) are taken to separate terminals (N1, N2, N3) which form the bases for diodes, (D1, D2, D3; D12, D21, D31) comprising, typically, the positive pole of the d.c. output. Where two sets of diodes are used these may be connected to separate supply lines (S1, S2). The d.c. negative terminal is common for the three phases and carries the appropriate diodes, (D4, D5, D6) whose cathodes are joined to the corresponding machine terminals (N1, N2, N3). The arrangement thus employs only one diode type, for example anode base, and, in a practical application, also permits a low space design as well has a saving on stock component costs and simplifying assembly and replacement.
|
