Miniature electric motor with casing made of plastics material - has elastic casing locating and holding stator and rotor bearings

A miniature electric motor is intended to allow simplified assembly and accurate manufacture of the individual motor components. The overall motor casing is made of a suitable synthetic thermoplastics elastic material which locates and holds the stator elements. The inside surfaces of the casing are ribbed providing the location and necessary pressure to maintain the stator which has shallow slots locating with the ribs. Specially shaped portions at the casing ends serves to hold the shaft bearings. Armature brushes are housed within cylinders having an integral flange allowing them to be screwed to the casing wall, access to the screws being provided by a cut-away. The stator is itself cut-away to accept the coil windings, the leads to which enter the enclosure through a moulded enclosure integral with the casing.
