Device for coupling a wheel to a pinion in a timepiece gear train

A wheel (11) made from magnetic material is mounted freely on a shaft (15), which also carries a pinion (13). A magnetic ring (16) is also mounted on the shaft (15) between the wheel and the pinion and normally engages the wheel thus connecting it to the pinion. A lever (7) actuated by a rod (8) lifts the wheel (11) from the ring (16) to disconnect the pinion (13) when required for time setting.
