PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the material for crusher parts having improved abrasion resistance, impact resistance and thermal shock resistance. SOLUTION: The material used as the crusher parts is a sintered body of silicon nitride, which contains 75-95 wt.% of silicon nitride, at least one element selected from Y and rare-earth elements in an amount of 1-12 wt.% expressed in terms of its oxide, Al in an amount of 0.01-5 wt.% expressed in terms of its oxide, and oxygen as impurity in an amount of <=10 wt.% expressed in terms of SiO2 , and has a density of >=3.20 g/cm<3> , a porosity of <=3% and a average void diameter of <=5 μm, and further has such spectrum property that the ratio of the height of the peak at 206 cm<-1> of silicon nitride, measured by Raman spectroscopy, to that of the peak at 521 cm<-1> of Si is in the range of 0.2-3, and furthermore if necessary, may contain an amount of <=8 wt.% of at least one metal compound selected from among the group of the metal compounds containing Mg, W, Mo, Mn, Cu and Fe. |
