Ignition system for IC engines - has alternator as signal generator and threshold switch interrupting DC in primary winding

The threshold switch has a controlled electronic switching paths. The ignition coil primary winding d. c. is controlled by the threshold switch, in turn controlled by a transistor with a storage component between the two, whose stored energy decreases when the engine speed increases. A further transistor forms with the control transistor a second threshold switch, as in 24 34 788. A control capacitor is charged by the d. c. voltage source and discharged by one of the two threshold switches. A control switch gradually interrupts the current through the ignition coil primary winding, when the engine is idle, depending on the control capacitor charge.
