The folding box has a sleeve with folded flaps at the ends joined together to form the end walls, while a carrying handle protrudes from one end. The handle (4) is formed from the tongues of material constituting the end wall, and slopes obliquely upwards from the corners of the box (1). The handle lies in the diagonal direction between opposite corners. It can be formed from a triangular upward fold of the outer-most layer forming the end wall of the box. A tear-open strip (7) can be provided, running along one side of the handle.
