摘要 <p>Discharges tripped by electrostatic charging are simulated by a d.c. voltage source with high internal resistance. A parallel capacitor discharges through an adjustable spark gap in series with a low resistance resistor and a housing part of the equipment to be tested. There is an h.v. generator consisting of a d.c. voltage convertor (11) operating as a sinusoidal generator connected through resistor (13) to a multistage rectified network (12). One of its outputs is earthed, and the h.v. output is connected through a high resistance resistor (14) to an earthed capacitor (3), and through a resistor (4) to the adjustable spark gap (5) whose one pole is fixed and the other movable. A pointer is connected to the movable pole which shows the pole position on a scale calibrated in kV.</p>
