PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a phenol resin molding material having excellent abrasion and heat shock resistances. SOLUTION: This phenol resin molding material is obtained by compounding inorganic fibers in an amount of 40-100 pts.mass based on 10 pts.mass of a resol phenol resin with a natural silica powder having 20-150μm average particle diameter in an amount of 30-90 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the resol phenol resin and a rubber component in an amount of 1-15 pts. mass based on 100 pts. mass of the resol phenol resin as principal components. Glass fibers in an amount of >=50 wt.% are preferably contained in the inorganic fibers thereof. Furthermore, the form of the natural silica powder is preferably a crushed shape. Further, the pulley is molded from the molding material.
