摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a thin-profile optical device capable of magnifying the whole image and the pixel size itself without using a conventional projection method. SOLUTION: A plurality of high refractive index regions 31, 33 having a high refractive index are formed in a planar inorganic or organic material in such a manner that the high refractive index region 33 is continuously present from the lower face to the upper face of the plate and that in the planes perpendicular to the thickness direction of the plate, the cross-sectional area of the each high refractive index region 33 is larger near the upper face of the plate than the cross-sectional area of the region 33 near the lower face. The ratio of the cross-sectional area of the high refractive index region 33 on the lower face of the plate to the cross-sectional area of the region on the upper face is almost equal in a plurality of high refractive index regions 33.
