The connection appliance has a housing (30) which has two coaxial flow ducts (28, 29) for inflow and outflow, and a valve, and which can be connected, in such a way that inflow and outflow are separated, to a standardised straight-through valve housing situated in a line. In order to provide greater freedom in arranging the flow medium meter (44) in front of the wall and to reduce the outlay in terms of design and construction of the connection appliance, a central tube (22) for the inflow (28) is mounted in the housing in an axially adjustable manner, the free tube orifice arranged within the valve chamber of the housing is fashioned as a valve seat (36), and at the valve chamber a housing expansion (43) is provided for accommodating, at the same time, the measuring mechanism of the meter. The housing of the connection appliance is expediently formed in two parts, a valve/meter housing part being provided with a cylindrical connection piece, whose free end can be screwed together with the straight-through valve housing situated in the line. <IMAGE>
