PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically discriminate the illumination light of a pilot lamp with a simple device. SOLUTION: In the device which photodetects lights emitted by pilot lamps (1a to 1b) of a device (1) to be inspected by the photoelectric transducing circuit (2) of a measuring instrument and photoelectrically transduces them, by using a photoelectric transducing circuit (2) which has wavelength sensitivity characteristic increasing differences in luminous intensity among the illumination colors of the pilot lamps (1a to 1b) of the device (1) to be inspected, the level difference of the electric signal converted and outputted by the photoelectric transducing circuit (2) according to the kinds of the illumination colors is made large and decided (83) to securely discriminate the illumination colors. Consequently, a system can be provided which automatically discriminates the illumination colors by fetch the discrimination result into a personal computer, etc.
