PURPOSE:To improve discharge stability without clogging discharge orifice and change in quality during preservation by incorprating a cpd. contg. azonaphthyl gp. into a recording medium liquid. CONSTITUTION:In a recording medium liquid used in a recording system comprising discharging the recording medium liquid from a discharge port of a recording head and flying it in the state of liquid droplets to record, the recording medium liquid contains a cpd. of formula I (wherein Q1 and Q4 are substd. or unsubstd. phenyl or naphthyl, Q2 and Q3 are substd. or unsubstd. p-phenylene or 1,4-naphthylene, R1 and R2 is H or sulfo gp. in the form of Na salt, R3 and R4 are H, OH, NH2, X is imino, azo or vinylene linkage and n is 0 or 1) in an amount of from 1- 15wt% pref. 1-8%, of the compound based on the total weight of the recording medium liquid. Examples of the compounds of formula I are the compounds of formulae II and III. |
