<p>Shaped aggregate-foamed plastics are produced by (1) suspending a heat-foamable plastic powder and/or granulate in a liq. reactive corss-linkable non-foamable synthetic resin which is chemically and physically stable at foaming temp; (2) heating mixt. to temp. for foaming the added granulate until plastic has foamed to required size, forming an aggregate suspension in resin; and (3) hardening composn. by cross-linking resin. Cross-linking of resin is pref. effected as (a) a chemical addn. by subsequent addn. of a hardener; (b) polymsn. either by adding a catalyst and/or further heating and/or supplying energy-rich radiation; (c) chemical condensation by addn. of catalyst; (d) by gaseous chemicals and/or mixture of air; (e) by heat-releasing a blocked hardener present in resin.</p> |
