PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon material which can offer a nonaqueous secondary battery having a high capacity and superior input and output characteristics, a high-temperature storing characteristic, and a superior cycle characteristic, and consequently, to provide a high-performance nonaqueous secondary battery.SOLUTION: A carbon material for a nonaqueous secondary battery is capable of occluding and releasing lithium ions. The carbon material comprises a carbonaceous material on the surface of each particle, and satisfies the relation given by the following expression: 10Y+0.26X≥α (1) (where Y is a tap density (g/cm), X is a specific surface area (SA)(m/g) of the carbon material, which was measured by BET method, and α=12.60).SELECTED DRAWING: None |
