A sunshade, in particular a sunshade with stand, parasol, garden umbrella, and the like, has a frame, a canopy construction and a fabric. The ribs (5) are articulated to a shaft part (2) which supports a crown (3) and slides telescopically with the shaft (2). A runner (4) to which stretchers (6) are articulated slides along the shaft (1). The crown (3) and the runner (4) move in opposite directions when the sunshade is opened and closed. To facilitate opening of the sunshade and stretching of the fabric, an auxiliary stretcher (8) is articulated above the runner (4) between the shaft and at least one rib (5) and the runner (4) has a locking device (12) for stopping the runner in its upper position and stretching the fabric.
