PURPOSE:To prevent generation of a large bulging and enlarge cast slab pulling- out force, by supporting the cast slab by pressing materials consisting of two sets of contact materials and blocks and by operating both pressing materials with a time lag, in the horizontal part of the continuous cast slab carrying path. CONSTITUTION:In the horizontal carrying path part of continuous cast slab 1, the first pressing material 4 and the second pressing material 5 are arranged along the direction orthogonal to the carrying direction for the upper face and the lower face of cast slab 1. The first pressing material 4 consists of the first contact materials 15 and blocks 6 and 7 where materials 15 are fixed, and the second pressing material is constituted by the second contact materials 23 arranged between the first contact materials 15 and blocks 8 and 9 fixing the materials 23. Both pressing materials are so operated alternately with a time lag that blocks 6 and 7 of pressing material 4 and blocks 8 and 9 of pressing material 5 may be separated from each other with continuous cast billet 1 interposed, so that cast slab pulling-out force can be enlarged, and bulging internal distortion can be suppressed and current agitation of the unsolidified molten part in the continuous cast slab is possible. |
