Transport apparatus for a flow-production line

What is proposed is a transport apparatus for a flow-production line, especially for the assembly of vehicle bodies, in which there are provided carriages which can be coupled to one another, are guided exactly on rails and have platforms serving as work stages and which together form an essentially uninterrupted surface which can be flush with the floor of the assembly shop. The forward movement of the carriages coupled to one another takes place by means of a drive device which drives only one particular carriage directly and the other carriages via this. For the assembly of vehicle bodies, each platform is provided with a lifting device, so that the body can be brought to any desired assembly height. Means for pivoting the body about the longitudinal or transverse axis can also be provided.
