PURPOSE: To prevent a culture material froth being contaminated directly or indirectly with various bacteria, in the cooling process of a heat-treated culture material, by supplying ozonous air to the culture material and thereby utilizing a sterilizing power of ozone. CONSTITUTION: In cultivating a culture material, air is frequently used for example in the cooling process in which a heat-treated culture material is supplied with air from the above while being transported so as to be cooled naturally, or in the culture process in which air is blown to the culture material in an individual culture device. In such cases, a cooling unit 1, for example, is provided with an air intake 6 with a built-in ozonizer mechanism 5 in the upper part of a closed space 4 which is formed by enclosing a space above a net conveyor 2 with a hood 3, so that ozonous air is blown to the culture material transported on the conveyor 2. In this example, ozone is produced in the air taken in from the outside air, enabling ozone to be contained uniformly in the ozonous air; therefore, sterilization by ozone may be expected in the entire area in the closed space 4. |
