PURPOSE:To precisely reproduce a single color through a simple operation and to save coloring materials by controlling a specific color, the sequence or a sequence controller based on the data about the levels of plural color components and their ratio. CONSTITUTION:Based on the ratio of data about plural colors apart from the specific color, specific coloring is carried on. When a controller 63 detects that almost all pieces of image data Y', M' and C' (41-43) are smaller than some threshold L through an I/O port 62, the controller 63 instructs a printer part to limit an image forming process to one black color. If only the data Y' is smaller than the threshold L and the others are larger, they are regarded as a single color of a component Y. A control signal is outputted to the controller 63 so that a printout in one color corresponding to the component Y can be available. Even if some component of the entire picture of an original exceeds the threshold L but negligible, the controller 63 regards it as a black one and processes it similarly.
