PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general technique for quantitatively analyzing the time and spatial distribution of gene expression.SOLUTION: An image analysis method for a biological sample includes the steps of: obtaining two or more sheets of distribution images of gene expression in a cell of the biological sample photographed according to the lapse of time; setting two or more small regions in the respective obtained images; selecting two arbitrary sheets of images from the two or more obtained images; computing the correlation between two corresponding small regions for the two or more small regions; and repeatedly performing the selection of the images and the operation of correlation to analyze the moving speed of the gene expression and the moving direction of gene expression for every small region. |
