摘要 1,116,293. A.C. motors; motor driving arrangements. MALLORY TIMERS Ltd. 20 Feb., 1967 [23 Feb., 1966], No. 7942/67. Heading H2A. A synchronous motor comprises a pair of housing shells each having a plurality of radially-shaped polepieces lanced out therefrom and extending axially inwards to interdigitate, forming a circle of stator poles; a field coil annularly disposed between the stator poles and the housing walls; a permanent-magnet rotor having peripheral salient poles and mounted so as to provide a uniform air gap; means for ensuring one-way rotation of the rotor including a member fixed to the rotor and a restraining member fixed to the housing; and a speed-reduction means, entirely disposed within the area circumscribed by the field coil, for coupling the rotor to an output shaft. As shown, stator poles bent inwards from each housing shell 10, 11, Fig. 5, are interdigitated and formed so that one narrow pole is followed by two broad poles sequentially around the pole ring to ensure starting. Field coil 12 is disposed betweeen this pole ring and the external wall of the housing. The rotor consists of an axially-polarized permanent magnet disc covered by end plates providing interdigitated poles 14, 15. It has extending through it at one side a shaft 17 on which a pinion 21 is freely rotatable. As the rotor rotates, pinion 21 is driven around a gear 34 secured to housing plate 11 and a gear 35 secured to output shaft 36 to rotate the latter. Gear 35 has one tooth more or less than gear 34 to provide the necessary speed reduction. Rotating with the rotor is a disc 16 with a raised edge and radial ribs 22, 24 which co-operate with a Z-shaped piece of wire 33 secured at its centre in a fixed bushing 29. The ends of the wire are turned down so that when the rotor rotates from right to left (as viewed in the drawing) the ribs may pass under the wire ends, but in the opposite direction the ribs abut against the wire ends to stop the rotor. Fig. 12 shows an alternative oneway device where ramps 69, 71 on member 68 mounted on the rotor raise magnetic balls 73 into holes 74 in a fixed non-magnetic member 72 on rotation from right to left (arrow 76); rotation in the opposite direction is prevented by trapping of the balls (held down by magnetic attraction by the rotor) between the vertical ramp portions and the sides of the holes. In an alternative gear device a pinion is mounted on an eccentric shaft, secured to the underside of disc 16 and extending below the rotor; the pinion rotates inside two internallytoothed gears which perform the functions of gears 34 and 35.
