The wrapping of stacked goods (1) on a support pallet (2) with several skids (4-6) is carried out by winding overlapping or crosswise lengths of stretch foil round the stack. The inherent tension of the foil shield causes the criss-cross sections to adhere to the skids, while leaving a free passage for the tines of a fork lift truck.
