PURPOSE: A method for sending a picture is provided to send and store various photographs and documents by an image file in a communication terminal having a picture sending function. CONSTITUTION: A method for sending a picture of a communication terminal having an image file storing part comprises the steps of: displaying a picture transfer mode setting demand at an arrival of a signal(315); setting a picture transfer mode so as to send an image present taken by a camera when an image transfer key of a camera is pushed(319); setting the picture transfer mode so as to send an image file stored in the image file storing part when a memory image transfer key is pushed(333); and connecting a signal at the mode setting to send an image according to the set picture transfer mode(321,323).
