PURPOSE:To prevent the contamination of the tonner image and of the inside of the copying machine, by installing an auxiliary paper guiding member with a sharpened end in the image carrier guiding section of the upper guide member and contacting the image carrier containing an unfixed tonner image with the auxiliary paper guiding member. CONSTITUTION:The heat fixation is performed by passing an image carrier 19 containing a tonner image through the space between a heating roll 11 having a built-in heat source 10 and a pressure roll 12. On the inner surface of an image carrier guiding section of the upper guide member 14 to be used for guiding the image carrier 19 between both the rolls 11 and 12, an auxiliary paper guiding member 16 which contains a rotaing body 16a equipped with numerous sharpened teeth which contact with the image carrier 19 is installed and, when the image carrier 19 starts to wind round around the heating roll 11, the rotating body 16a is rotated as the carrier 19 advances and the contamination of the tonner image caused by the image being contacted with the upper guide member or other peripheral members is prevented. |
