PURPOSE:To provide a photosensitive body superior in photosensitive characteristics by incorporating a carrier generating material made of a specified bisazo compd. in combination with a carrier transfer material made of a specified hydrazone compd. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive body has a photosensitive layer 4 composed of a carrier generating phase 2 contg. a bisazo compd. represented by general formula [ I ] (in which A is one of groups of formulae [II]-[V]), and a carrier transfer phase 3 contg. a hydrazone compd. represented by general formula [VI]. As a result, the obtained photosensitive body is stable against heat and light, superior in characteristics, such as electrostatic charge retentivity, sensitivity, and residual potential, small in fatigue change in repeated uses, and high in durability. Further, since said hydrazone compd. of formula [VI] is good in transfer performance of photocarriers, especially positive holes, and when a photosensitive body is composed by laminating a conductive substrate, a carrier generating layer, and a carrier transfer layer in this order, an electrostatic charge image high in contrast between the conductive substrate and the unexposed parts can be formed. |
