PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an oil-based ink compsn. for a ballpoint pen which can maintain smooth rotation of a ball and can offer smooth, proper ink delivery and light writing feel without causing bleeding and plopping phenomena by using a particular component. SOLUTION: In this oil-based ink compsn. for a ballpoint pen comprising a colorant and a high-boiling org. solvent, a polyether-modified silicone oil, a phosphoric ester of a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether or a polyoxyethylene alkylaryl ether represented by the formula (wherein R represents an 8-30C alkyl or alkylaryl; R' represents H or R (CH2 CH2 O)n ; and (n) is 1 to 30) or a deriv. thereof is incorporated. The deriv. is a salt of an alkanolamine, monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, or triethanolamine.
