A Diesel engine exhaust gas-purifying catalyst which comprises a refractory three dimensional structure loaded with a catalytic component comprising zirconia having a specific surface area of 50 to 200 m<2>/g and a primary particle average diameter of 50 to 200 ANGSTROM , loaded with at least one noble metal selected from palladium and rhodium, in a dispersed state.
