<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door opening and closing assisting device capable of preventing the unstable movement such as hunting and improving operation feeling. <P>SOLUTION: This door opening and closing assisting device is provided with a motor 1, gears 2a-2e and a driving pulley 3 for transmitting driving force to a mechanism for moving a vehicle door, a torque sensor 10, a speed sensor 71, and a door opening and closing control computing part 81 for computing a driving order value for the motor 1 based on ideal feeling of door operation for control.
