<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the characteristics of a fuel cell with an organic acid having a carboxyl group as a positive electrode fuel and oxygen as a negative electrode fuel. <P>SOLUTION: By adding P to Pd and Pt, a PdP catalyst and a PtP catalyst having a grain diameter of less than 5 nm are obtained. The catalysts are used for the catalyst of the fuel cell with the organic acid having a carboxyl group as a positive electrode fuel and oxygen as a negative electrode fuel, thus improving the characteristics of the fuel cell due to an increase in the area/weight ratio of the catalyst by a decrease in a grain diameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
