PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact room lamp for a vehicle with a small installation space of a light source. SOLUTION: The room lamp for the vehicle is provided with the light source for emitting the collected light; a modulated light layer being a modulated light layer provided on a light emitting side of the light source and controlled with light diffusion property by an applied voltage; and a light-permeation cover arranged on the modulated light layer.
